Anatomical snuffbox is a triangular depression on the lateral aspect of wrist distal to the radial styloid, it becomes prominent when the thumb is fully extended.

Boundaries

Lateral/Anterior wall

  1. Abductor pollicis longus
  2. Extensor pollicis brevis

Medial/Posterior wall

  1. Extensor pollicis longus

Floor

  1. Radial styloid
  2. Scaphoid
  3. Trapezium
  4. Base of first metacarpal

Contents

  1. Cephalic vein
  2. Radial artery
  3. Superficial branch of radial Nerve
