DCT and K+ Secretion

In distal tubule of the Kidney:

K+ is secreted primarily  in response to Na+ reabsorption.

So when amount of Na+ reaching distal tubule is less, less amount of K+ will be secreted.

In metabolic acidosis,  H+ is excess and it has to be excreted, so H+ is secreted in place of K+.
